SUPPORT THE STANWOOD SURVIVORS
Cross Creek has taken in 12 alpacas, 6 male and 6 female, that were seized by Snohomish County Animal Services in April from Thogersen Family Farm, where they were planned to be slaughtered for pet food. The alpacas were not provided sufficient food or water and approximately six died after arriving at the farm. Two were found dead on the property when officers arrived. One other died, apparently from malnutrition, after seizure. According to outside sources, at least 30 alpacas were in the possession of the farm. Thogersen Family Farm has been charged with first-degree animal cruelty.
The remaining alpacas are now in the custody of Cross Creek and will be carefully assessed and nursed back to health. Males and females were kept together, so we are operating with the assumption that all females are pregnant. Two are currently confirmed pregnant with due dates of May 5th and May 24th.
Please consider donating to help pay for the medical supplies, veterinarian bills, and food for these animals. We will continue to keep you updated on their status.

BECOME A SPONSOR
Sponsorship is one of the ways we fund our efforts to provide a safe-haven for alpacas in need of refuge. Many of the alpacas we take in require significant amounts of “down time” due to physical and/or emotional trauma experienced prior to rescue. By maintaining a sustainable budget via sponsorship, we are able to prevent the “move’em out quick!” mentality that is so often seen in the animal rescue world. These alpacas have been through enough in their lives.
If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, complete the form below to set up a reoccurring monthly donation. Also, check out our Send A Card program if you are making a donation in the name of a friend or loved one.
Thank you to all of you who allow us to save lives via your generosity, shares, support and love!
